THE DOGS ARE IN JAIL..SNIFFING EVERY "CELL"

Memphis, Tennessee

The Shelby County Sheriff Department and its county jails will be bringing the dogs.  A huge number of cell phones are making its way in the hands of inmates and causing calling problems and many threats on those who put them there.  So the Shelby County Correctional Centers will take these speciality trained cannines in jail to sniff out those cell phones!  Smuggling in cell phones is becoming a growing thing with inmates, but those dogs will be calling on them soon enough.

Now,  this is too convienient,  "cells in cells!"  This could be jovial if you wanted to laugh a bit!  Those dogs will closing off their phone services soon enough!

You could be right, but they're prisoners not guests!  Du..ugh!

National News Scene

With the new bank revisions making its way across America's purses and wallets, you'll need to be aware of the bank fees for overdraft checks.  If you have been overdrawn and are covered by an overdraft protection fee, your institution will need to notify you that charges will still be in effect if you write a check and it's not totally covered.  The bank will send you notification of the opt-in or out of overdraft protection, but you will also be notified that the fee for writing overdrawn checks still apply.  You can choose not to have overdraft protection fee coverage too.  The general benefit of the protection fee is  your check will still be covered, but you'll pay for a little hefty charge in return for it.  Most banks fees range between $35 to 45 dollars for each overdraft.  Be careful you're not writing checks without any money in the accounts.  In addition if you use your debit cards and you go over you may be denied your purchase at the cash registar!  Banks will be sending notices out for new accounts by July 01, 2010 and existing accounts by August 15, 2010.

The former Mayor of Memphis, Dr. W.W. Herenton is taking his stake at getting the Baptist ministers involved by writing a letter explaining his needing their support to oppose gay marriages and to keeping marijuana illegal.  Herenton strategedy is to get the zip out to the communities of churches of his campaign roster's of issues.  He is seeking the churches  approval in order to lock in a win with votes at the polls in November.   Herenton will oppose current State Senator, Steve Cohen for the 9th District Congressional Seat.

THE ZIPPIN PIPPIN IS GOES TO GREENBAY AND THREE MILLION DOLLARS IS THE COST THEY'LL PAY!

That old roller coaster will leave Memphis for it's new home in Greenbay, WI soon enough.  The coaster will cost about 3 million dollars totaled. That will include tearing it down, shipping it and having it rebuilt on its new site in its new hometown.  The funding cost will leave it's former owner in Memphis with about 100,000. 

"That's a hefty zip to lock up"
